The Manigod Paret
The Manigod Paret is a little single-runner wooden sleigh, with a plate to sit on, with one foot on each side of the runner and a shaft to steer.
At the beginning of the 20th century, this method of transport was used by Manigod children to go to the school in the village, going down the snow-covered roads.
Nowadays, it particularly used for leisure activities. Friendly competitions and demonstrations are organised during the whole winter season in Manigod. A championship takes place every year with about 120 participates on Friday evenings on the pass in La Croix-Fry or in L’Étale.
